Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Leh & Acclimatization
Arrive at Leh Airport (11,500 ft). Our representative will transfer you to your premium hotel. Since you have flown directly to a high altitude, it is strictly recommended to take complete rest for the entire day to let your body acclimatize to the low oxygen levels. Drink plenty of water. Dinner and overnight stay in Leh.
Day 2
Leh Local Sightseeing & Hall of Fame
After breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour. Visit the Hall of Fame (a museum built by the Indian Army), the mysterious Magnetic Hill where cars defy gravity, and Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Drive further to witness the spectacular Sangam (confluence) of the Zanskar and Indus rivers. Return to Leh in the evening for a stroll in the local market.
Day 3
Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Get ready for an exciting day! Drive towards Nubra Valley crossing the mighty Khardung La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world. Stop for a quick photo at the top. Descend into the beautiful Nubra Valley and visit the Diskit Monastery, featuring a towering 106-ft Maitreya Buddha statue. Later, enjoy a ride on the rare double-humped Bactrian camels at the Hunder sand dunes. Check into your luxury camp.
Day 4
Nubra to Pangong Tso (The Direct Route)
After breakfast, drive directly from Nubra to Pangong Lake via the Shyok river route. This journey takes you through extremely rugged and scenic terrains, saving you a trip back to Leh. Arrive at Pangong Lake, famous for changing its color from blue to green to red depending on the sun. Check into your lakeside camp and enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the lake.
Day 5
Pangong to Leh via Chang La
Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise at Pangong Tso. After breakfast, start your return journey to Leh. You will cross Chang La Pass (17,586 ft), another high-altitude marvel. En route, visit the Thiksey Monastery, which closely resembles the Potala Palace in Tibet, and the Rancho School (from the movie 3 Idiots). Arrive in Leh and enjoy your final farewell dinner.
Day 6
Local Exploration & Leisure
Spend the day enjoying local sightseeing, market shopping, and authentic culinary experiences. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
